As every year in August 31st, we will light the candles to commemorate the fire that destroyed the city 205 years ago.
The city’s Old Town will be the scenery for the recreation of the 1813 battle, a fight that caused a great damage to the city. It happened more than two centuries ago, when Napoleon’s troops, that had the city under their control, confronted the Allied troops. After beating the French, the Allies set the city on fire, committed robbery and raped hundreds of women.
Since then, every year the Old Town of the city remembers that sad part of history with a variety of activities, and paying homage to the only street that survived the great fire: the street named Agust 31st.
So, our restaurant couldn’t be in a more privileged area!
